The Mosbach-Gundelsheim stage runs for 13 km in an open and wide landscape with many views of the Neckar valley.

At the Neckarzimmern memorial, you will be reminded of the deportation of almost all the Jews of Baden, the Palatinate and Saarland. It consists of a large floor sculpture in the shape of a Star of David.

Hornberg Castle, probably founded in the 11th century, was the residence of Götz von Berlichingen for 45 years. Thanks to a foot and cycle bridge, you can easily get from the train station to the Haßmersheim district on the other side of the Neckar.

Another highlight is St. Michael‘s Chapel, which stands in the middle of a nature reserve on the Michaelsberg. It is one of the oldest church buildings in the region. Via the so-called Himmelsleiter, you hike through the terraced vineyards "Himmelreich" and reach the Deutschordenstadt Gundelsheim.

On the "Historical Path" through the old town, you can take a trip into the history of the town. You can see Horneck Castle from afar, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the Neckar castles of Ehrenberg, Guttenberg Castle and Hornberg Castle. Together with Guttenberg Castle, Horneck Castle was an important link between Heilbronn and Heidelberg. Today, the castle complex serves as the Transylvanian home of the Transylvanian Saxons with an adjoining Transylvanian Museum.

Anfahrt mit dem PKW

Der Odenwald liegt im Dreiländereck Baden-Württemberg, Hessen und Bayern. Mit der S-Bahn und dem DB-Regionalverkehr sind es von Karlsruhe, Mannheim, Heidelberg und Heilbronn weniger als 1 Stunde Fahrzeit in den Odenwald. Mit dem Auto ist der Odenwald über die A 81 Würzburg-Heilbronn oder die A 6 Nürnberg-Heidelberg zu erreichen.
