Horneck Castle

Schloß Horneck, 74831 Gundelsheim

Horneck Castle is situated high above the banks of the Neckar with a view of the old town of Gundelsheim, Guttenberg Castle (with its famous griffin watch), the cultural landscape of the Neckar Valley and the "Himmelreich", the historic terraced vineyard of the Teutonic Order.

Horneck Castle in Gundelsheim, once owned by the Teutonic Order, is the largest of the Neckar castles after Heidelberg.

Owned by the Transylvanian Saxons, Horneck Castle was completely renovated in 2020 and converted into a cultural and meeting center with a hotel, library and museum.

The viewing terrace offers a magnificent view of the Neckar valley and the 14th century town wall, a large part of which has been preserved.
