Obrigheim local history museum

Hauptstraße 55, 74847 Obrigheim

Bourgeois living culture from 1910 to 1920 can be experienced up close in a house from 1910, the Obrigheim local history museum.

The building has been largely restored to its original condition and houses the three-room apartment of the first generation of residents on the first floor. The living room, dining room and bedroom are furnished in Art Nouveau style.

The upper floor contains information on the early industrialization of Obrigheim and the history of Germany‘s largest gypsum mine. Old crafts can also be experienced in a shoemaker‘s workshop and a wainwright‘s workshop.

In an adjoining building, agricultural equipment that was still in use until the middle of the 20th century is on display.

Every 1st Sunday of the month from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm (from November to March)
